If you can tap into tapIt4me, it will save your taps for sure! Well worth the price.Hopefully that will change in a future OS update. So this app is useful when you do need to write at least a paragraph or two, to justify the copy-paste overhead.

This happens to be because the iPhone OS at the moment allows running one app at a time. This means you have to copy-paste what you typed in tapit4me, back into the other program. Just note that if you type only little bits of info in various to-do or note taking apps, this application is of limited use, because it works as a standalone app, not behind the scenes as you type in other programs (unlike the Mac versions). Nonetheless, I hope it can be done, at least say for a comma, (tap-hold spacebar?). It would be nice if shortcuts could be triggered upon punctuations such as commas, semi-colons etc., but it may be a bit tedious to implement because punctuations do not fit the main keyboard and have to be toggled around to access 'em. It also auto-capitalizes correctly, so you can write a few paragraphs very smoothly indeed. Since this application expands the shortcut upon spacebar (or double-spacebar as period)- so that only when you type 'ur' as an entire word, for instance, it would expand to 'your'). Use consonants for long words, to remember easily.

Also, you can add shortcuts for the vocabulary in your field of interest such as proper nouns, terminology etc. (I have 200+), you can understand how it boosts typing speed. However, if your defined abbreviations relate to usual words such as t->the, tt->that, ur->your etc. Routine blocks such as taglines, notices and business info as abbreviations - like faxOff, addrHome etc., is what all such apps do. This application makes your iPhone into a writing tool, as the shortcuts double the speed of typing.

With TypeIt4Me Touch installed on your iPhone or iPad, greetings, common phrases, boilerplate texts, URLs or even large chunks of programming code can all be just a couple of prods away. Just email your Mac TypeIt4Me snippet set files to yourself and open the attachments in TypeIt4Me Touch on your iPhone or iPad to import your abbreviations. However, you can still use snippets created on your Mac.

If you’re still using TypeIt4Me 5.5.3 (or earlier versions for Mac) downloaded directly from the Ettore Software website, automatic iCloud syncing of your abbreviations between Mac and iOS is not available. You can also add new snippets and sync them across all your Macs and iDevices. They will be available in the TypeIt4Me Touch app and keyboard as long as you’re signed in to iCloud. If you use TypeIt4Me 6 (or TypeIt4Me 5.4.x from the Mac App Store) and you keep your abbreviations in iCloud, you can use them on your iPhone and iPad.
